I plan to re-shoot this one, trying to gain a vantage point [standing in the truck bed] that gets the chimney pots incorporated into an adequate sky piece.

This really is a riot of textures and odd details under that sharp light. An architectural nightmare but a visual delight!

Really like the light in this one and that fabulous shadow. The angle and crop is also quite intriguing, though, as you say, it doesn't seem quite settled in the lens just yet. Definitely worth plenty of return visits with the camera.

@ 2¢ thx! i felt the definition of the wires was a bit tentative, I'll get that sorted next time.

@ GJC. Correct, glad you stopped by. This is a throw away image, but it exhibits the problem we have been discussing. The image would be far stronger had I better resolved it at the sky. Sometimes it's easier to see the problem on someone else's image. I was "too close" to the subject for the lense. I will shoot this again, next time I'm in Paris (KY) in the morning. At least I now know where not to stand : ] Two feet left of this shot is the window with the chairs from yesterdays post, and I shot this as an after thought, thinking it didn't have much potential. best...jerry

i like this one, but think i understand your point. i go back to the same places repeatedly - many of them within walking distance of my house - trying to get the shot that i know is there.

I really like the shadow on the building. The texture of the brick give it such depth and I really like the composition. I will be interested in seeing your re-shoot and being able to compare.
