For cold weather shooting I wear a paper thin wind glove, over a thin high-tech glove liner, and pull on some big ol' down mittens over the rest between shots.

Simple but beautiful. I like winter trees. they make excellent sihouettes as here.

@Paco Díaz: thx! good point. accidentally shot at +1EV, too hot for this particular lense wide open, and the sun blowing out the edges of the clouds.

this shot alone is worth the expense and effort, in my humble opinion. i have to keep shooting all winter too. i don't have the same challenges, but the little controls on the rolleiflex, and the need to use a hand held light meter, can get overwhelming in bitter cold. i usually stick with the fuji rangefinder in those time.

@gbe: [ Miss the leica : ] this was a shake down cruise for the 5D to see what happens with gloves on. Somehow I inadvertently reset the EV to +1 and turned the timed exposure on, good for a self depreciating chuckle and a blurry frame of my foot.
