Nice photo! 22 Dec 2008 3:51pm @Silverado: thx! i was an easel artist before taking up photography. Jed from Norwood, United StatesI have long admired the effect that shadows from blinds creates. The extra benefit of the screening to soften the direct sun light is a nice touch. The screening appears to shape and model the light while nice details of the fruit shows in the shadow of the blinds. The screen also allows you to hold the white threshold and get detail without losing it to full white without the detail. At the same time, you hold the dark theshold so that detail shows there as well. The bowl also seems to acquire the light in a compliemtnary manner so that the bowl is defined but does not take over the frame. Nice work 22 Dec 2008 6:37pm @Jed: thx! what a nice comment. about sums it up, though my approach was more like along the lines of wondering what effect the screen would have : ] Robert from Kingsville, CanadaThis time of year we see these low angle shadows , you've done well to make the best of them . 22 Dec 2008 11:44pm Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaBeautiful work! Doh ! 23 Dec 2008 1:23pm Shirin Moosavi from Tehran, IranI thought it is the shadow of wire-netting, and reading through the comments I found that this the blinds! Either way, it's beautiful! What's special is the curved, diagonal shadow lines. 23 Dec 2008 5:13pm @Shirin Moosavi: thx! you got it right, both the window screen and the blinds effect the image.
