Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesI like that curving road and the play of light and shadow. 15 Jan 2009 5:34am bluechameleon from Vancouver, Canada...further down the road, the shadows are still long. A lovely journey. 15 Jan 2009 5:44am JamesC from portland, United StatesS curve, lovely country road, nice shadow cutting across the road and the strips of "salt?". Actually, rather like the grid fencing on the right too. Wonderful fine and composition. 15 Jan 2009 5:51am @JamesC: thx! the salt brine was sprayed on by the road crew in preparation for a snow or ice event. The plank fencing is more horse friendly, and are often doubled to protect the public from being bitten. They are doubled through pastures to generously separate the stallions. Though beautiful and regal, thoroughbreds can be man eaters best approached with caution. Example Jean-François from LES ISSAMBRES, Francequel talent ! un régal .............................................. !!!!!! 15 Jan 2009 6:43am john4jack from Corvallis, United StatesThe road makes the composition. Beautiful tonality. 15 Jan 2009 6:50am Suzanne from Huntington Bch, United StatesThis is simply the most beautiful country road. Everything is just so perfect...not a twig out of place. Again, the pattern of the shadows is terrific. Will you come back in the spring and photograph this scene again when the trees have their leaves? I doubt that I would like it any better but I would be interesting to see. 15 Jan 2009 7:29am @Suzanne: I shall do that for you! In Summer the roads become tunnels through canopies of leaves. k@ from Paris, FranceWe would follow you so easily on that smoothy curved path !
