Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainGood composition, the lines guide te eye very well to the right. 5 Mar 2009 5:58am @Paco Díaz: thx! Had me worried : ] JamesC from portland, United StatesThe tree in the middle of the frame stops me from looking right, captures my attention. I like the gradual narrowing of the road from the wide base, makes it this image stable for me. The stone walls adds structural strength. I love the shadows, masterfully done. Very pleasing image to behold, nice work. 5 Mar 2009 6:27am Shirin Moosavi from Tehran, IranProbably I'm gonna crash into those walls because I'm busy watching this beautiful scenery! 5 Mar 2009 8:19am @Shirin Moosavi: thx! Hope you are feeling better... Scene by Sharon Photography from Kingston, Ontario, Canadalove the wall and the shadows - beautiful image 5 Mar 2009 10:50am Virgil from Richmond, United StatesHmmmm.........I bypass taking pictures around most of the horse farms around here because there is nowhere for me to pull off the road. Did you stop in the road and take a quick shot? 5 Mar 2009 11:39am @Virgil: Rarely do I stop in the road...safety first...mine and yours. Most farms have wide service entries that are on the public right of way, I pull in as far to one side as possible making certain my pulling wheel is always on terra firma. I do not block a driveway unless I'm truly hopping out for a quick snap. That's what I did here and most of my rural shots. Also, I mentioned a few months back that I'm adding a used mountain bike to my shooting gear. I've been watching Craigslist. Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesGreat shot. If the signs don't do the trick it looks like the wall will! 5 Mar 2009 12:58pm @Chris Parr: thx! The are several great signs along this winding lane, most of which had been run over during the ice storm. The rock and plank fences are run into with regularity. hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongAs always, very beautiful b&w tone and composition and the landscape you've captured is just lovely! BTW, did you finally get that mountain bike to ride along these lanes?:-) 5 Mar 2009 3:06pm @hugo poon: thx! Have not found a good used bike yet, if I don't find a used one in the next few weeks I will have to buy a new one. Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesOr else. That rock wall looks unforgiving. Great tones and textures. That curving wall is really nice. 5 Mar 2009 4:35pm @Steve Rice: thx! Most of these are dry stone, laid with no mortar or reinforcing. Essentially a pile of rocks with various outcomes :] Notice the two lighter sections that have been relaid after being hit. Suzanne from Huntington Bch, California, United StatesAnother excellent composition emphasizing the long shadows. Well done. 5 Mar 2009 7:41pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomYes, that wall looks a little unforgiving . . and there is little room for error ! 5 Mar 2009 9:06pm Virgil from Richmond, United StatesI feel the same as you; I do not block driveways or stop in the street. A Mountain bike is an idea.....however...I have found a safe place to park(church parking lot) and hiked back. 5 Mar 2009 11:52pm @Virgil: I wouldn't ride a bike on a busy road, but might find a use for it on the country lanes. |
