Dulcie Andres from Danville, CA, United StatesLucky dove! Lovely sharp photo. I can only imagine how you caught that one. 29 Apr 2009 5:57am @Dulcie Andres: Thanks! Setting in a chair on the patio : ] Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomGreat shot Jerry and a lovely conversion to B&W! 29 Apr 2009 6:33am Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandAmazing sharpness and great capture!!! 29 Apr 2009 6:39am GJC from Kyoto (京都), JapanThe quality of the light is exceptional. I love how this combines softness in tones with sharpness in details. The background is as lovely as our dove. Such fine work. 29 Apr 2009 9:10am @GJC: Thanks! Ordinarily one would not imagine photographing wildlife to present as Black & White, but that was the sole purpose for this lense. While the color shot was glorious, I prefer to interpret...the poetry of the late evening light. "Marie" :-) from perth, HaitiGreat tones and such a crystal clear photo. Awesome. 29 Apr 2009 11:32am Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesSuperb detail and tones. This is great. 29 Apr 2009 12:14pm hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongWhat a fantastic capture! Wonderful expression of the dove and that beautiful subtle background... love this alot! 29 Apr 2009 1:18pm shoti from Everywhere in the, Philippinesso captivating capture。can't help but keep staring at it。 29 Apr 2009 2:12pm john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesThe birds are all saying, "You lied to us, Jerry. Promises! Promises!" Exquisite detail in the bird, my friend. (Not a shabby new lens.) 29 Apr 2009 2:36pm @john4jack: Hah! You said it was a good lense, I'm gonna hold you to it : ] @twodot: Perfect : ] Jed from Norwood, United StatesJerry, like the way you lead the eye into the center. The head is not center but the mid back is and that leads the eye naturally down to the head. nice composition. The unfocused, dappled background allows the gray of he bird to show well and the focus is right on. a nice job. I like this one. 29 Apr 2009 4:09pm @Jed: Thanks! Truthfully...I set up on a tripod, pre-focused, then fired off a burst of five...one of which was sharp : ] I concur with you analysis of the image and composition. I studied variations that moved the dove further left, but always preferred the as shot. john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesNo problem holding me to it; you know whom I can blame if you turn out anything with it short of perfection!! 29 Apr 2009 5:20pm @john4jack: It's point & shoot...right? : ] Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomThat dove's no pigeon and the lens ain't no turkey. 29 Apr 2009 6:39pm Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainBeautifully portrayed and composed. Great detail and b/w. It's a classic. 29 Apr 2009 6:56pm JamesC from portland, United StatesDon't think the bird even knows you're there. Nice shot with a lovely lens, look fwd to seeing more what you can do with it. 29 Apr 2009 11:02pm Fishit from Tealtown, United Statesyou are very good at this .... best dennis ... 30 Apr 2009 1:31am @Fishit: Thanks!
