Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainOriginal framing, you saw the photo and you cathed it! Ilike very much this ephemeral moment of the flower on the car. Very good. 6 May 2009 5:51am @Paco Díaz: Thanks Paco, and with a certain sadness as they leave for another year. Dulcie Andres from Danville, CA, United StatesI enjoy the way you caught the beauty of the debris and the exquisite refections! 6 May 2009 6:34am @Dulcie Andres: Thanks Dulcie, overcast [rain[ is perfect for shooting reflections. Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomThat's fantastic Jerry!.....I love the contrasts in the photo between the soft white of the flower and the hard metal and glass black of the car! 6 May 2009 6:42am Bill Jennings from Bay Area Northern Calif, United Statesthe contrast in colors, and the sweeping curve across the diagonal makes this image a very powerful photo. Well done! 6 May 2009 6:43am xavier cardell from menorca-barcelona, SpainHey, simply brilliant. I love this photo! 6 May 2009 9:31am Craig@Random Ramblings from Herts, United KingdomWell spotted and nicely taken, I like the deep blacks and diagonal composition. It has an element of sadness that I can't quite put my finger on. 6 May 2009 9:56am @Craig@Random Ramblings: Thanks Craig, I did my job then...because all the dogwood blooms will be gone for another year by weeks end. Scene by Sharon Photography from Kingston, Ontario, CanadaI agree with everyone else the composition and contrast are spot-on. 6 May 2009 10:20am JTF from Zaanstad, NetherlandsThis is beautiful, I love BW photography, its so strong... 6 May 2009 10:59am jeff (aka dogilicious) from Millerstown, PA, United StatesExcellent black and white. Very sharp. 6 May 2009 12:16pm Jed from Norwood, United StatesJerry, Your choice of compsition shows creative non-use of the center space. You sort of tickle the center with the flower (like the dove's back) and draw us right into the now off-center flower. And to capture the moment that is gone as quickly as it is seen, well, that almost more than I can stand. HOw much of the composition is in the camera? Nice job. 6 May 2009 4:34pm @Jed: Thanks Jed, full frame and a wee bit too tight. The watercolorist Betty Lou Schlemm taught me how to effectively use the center space, figure on ground etc.. I could write a short story on my relationship with her...she called me Kooky from Kentucky : ] john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesWonderful diagonal. Excellent selective focus. Terrific tonal range. I dearly love dogwoods. 6 May 2009 4:57pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomYou have given the abstract a depth of meaning here . . and, yes, there is a sadness here, too, as your Title implies. 6 May 2009 5:11pm Didier DE ZAN from somewhere, FranceVery beautiful contrast I like the black tones great ! 6 May 2009 6:47pm JamesC from portland, United StatesI see you've got flower petal boomed, lots of them around this time of the year. It's amazing to see so much details near your black point. 6 May 2009 8:29pm dan from Paris, FranceDelicious image ! 6 May 2009 8:38pm |
