outta bidness - mt sterling ky

I pulled into a parking lot to shoot something across the road. Ultimately that proved unsuccessful, but as usual, I did a 360º scan before moving on. Quite often the images I post were not the original target. Yesterday's image was 180º behind me, today's 90º.

Obviously it didn't pay to sell with Clay... too bad.
But Clay's warehouse makes a great shot with lots of character and beautiful light and shadow: a fortuitous 90 degree turn.

So following on from yesterday I have to ask why do you always discard the colour? For example I would guess that this building has some very nice distressed colour in the paintwork.

@grouser: Simply...a personal preference for b-w photography and prints. The only thing I found of merit in this frame was the line and the effect of light on the foreground texture. While I do have a keen eye for color, can tell you what color a shadow is, or the temperature of subtle light, I quickly bore of color hanging on the wall. While this point of view does somewhat restrict my subject matter...I choose to leave the color shots available for others. I did post a color shot last Valentines day, though it might not become a habit : ]

I love the "grant sighting"...I thought this WAS him...LOL! I love the light along side the building. Something about Clay that would make me nervous starting up a bidness ;)

Apparently it doesn't pay. I personally like the fact that you and grant shoot strictly in b/w. I tend to go back and forth depending on subject but I am amazed at what I learn about composition by shooting and viewing b/w. Good work.

@jeff (aka dogilicious): Grant shoots the real deal, I don't have patience, though sometimes I wonder with all the hassles in digital printing.
