I don't know if it is me, or my imagination, but I can really tell the differences in the cameras you are using...the new Pentax lends a softer image...are you using lightroom any differently with the two cameras?

@huffbrau: Helpful feedback Kim! There "is" a noticeable difference in the files and the edits required in Lightroom are significantly different. My thought is that there is a flatness in the mid-tones, i.e. the superior dynamic range of the full frame 5D sensor contrasted to the crop sensor K7. IMHO the 5D sensor is uniquely suited for B/W. I tried a 5D MK II and files from it were inferior to the 5D. For the moment I attribute faulty shooting and processing technique as I learn the camera/lense, but the "atmosphere" I so prize is missing and possibly the source of my malaise...it's the little things : ] I have planned to shoot side by side comparisons.
