reflections on yesterday

Going through my card dump from yesterday's shoot, I noticed that several of the images had police cruiser reflections in them. A coincidence you say. A few minutes after this shot I was shooting a long view of a church in a historical area when a cop drove the wrong way up a one way street and stopped just short of me. I stood there glaring at him as he sped away. This is the third time this year—that I'm aware of—that I've been shadowed by Lexington police and quite frankly I'm sick of it.

Update: What was my part in this other than the pandemic paranoia of the times? I carry my camera on a hand strap rather than a neck strap and I suspect that makes this small camera less distinguishable from a weapon than using the logo'ed factory strap.

This window full of toys and reflections is really a kick...very fanciful and joyful !
(But you'd better be careful; this photo-taking behavior is really a subversive activity.
It's a shame that in the climate we live in, taking a picture has now become suspect .)

@dan: The police are just doing their job as dictated by the times. It's the trillions of dollars, natural resources, and human effort...all wasted...worldwide that angers me. Maybe I should start shooting with a surveillance camera mounted on a 9 foot momopod : \

@Curly: If we would all just behave there would be a largesse of wealth to satisfy all our needs. Too simple a proposition...primitive creature that man is.

Simply having a telephoto lens on his camera got my son stopped by the Washington State Patrol right here on the streets of Olympia. We've both been to Hong Kong and other places and not had any problems. Paranoia reigns supreme.

I really like this shot a lot Jerry. The dog with the goggles makes it totally retro.
Hmm...paranoia is a word for it, ridiculous is another. I don't understand this mentality at all :/

A slow pass going the right way would be sufficient I think. I work with lots of cops and some of them only have two gears, fast and stop.

Up here we always say that they're just bored and have nothing better to do but look for trouble....LOL! They are trying to play detective and failing miserably at it......Awesome photo....keep it up!

i'm a sucker for store window photos. i don't like to go in the stores, but i do like a good photo, like this one. i've been followed/stopped lots for taking pictures. i finally decided that feeling like a criminal, without actually having to be one, is part of what i like about taking photos.
